I recently received my Licentiateship Distinction (LIPF) from the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF). The distinctions are on three levels – Licentiate, Associate and Fellow, in ascending order.
The Licentiate is the first of these levels and requires a panel of ten images to be presented. The panel may be general subject matter or in a specialist category and must demonstrate competence in key areas of camera skill.
Assessed by experienced photographers, successful applicants are awarded the letters LIPF to use after their name. I am currently working towards my Associate Distinction and EFIAP Bronze Distinction. I regularly enter images into International Photographic Salons, receiving medals and honourable mentions for my work. I am a committee member of Kilkenny Photographic Society.
